Is this site secure?
Nobody today can guarantee that hackers won’t break into their website and steal your details. We will, however, make every effort to secure our website and your stored details. You can help by not reusing passwords you’ve used elsewhere to register with us.
We allow you to purchase from us without registering an account. If you are concerned about your data, you don’t need to register.
We don’t store your credit card details – these are handled by the transaction providers like PayPal. So noone can steal your card details from us.
We use the popular WordPress CMS (content management system) and Woocommerce shopping cart. These are well supported open-source software, but any software can have security holes, so we regularly upgrade to the latest versions to fix any bugs or security issues which have been discovered.
The Kids In The Kitchen NZ website runs on the secure Ubuntu Linux platform and the server is automatically upgraded with the latest updates.
The website uses SSL certificates from https://letsencrypt.org to secure all traffic.
Kids In The Kitchen administrators use strong passwords and two-factor authentication to prevent hackers logging in even if they somehow discovered our passwords.
How much does shipping cost?
We ship our products using NZ Couriers, this ensures your product arrives safely to you.
We aim to ship all orders within 24 hours (Monday – Friday excluding public holidays)
Orders placed over the weekend will be dispatched on the following Monday.
Tracking details are provided so you can see delivery progress updates or arrange alternative delivery options.
We endeavor to have you items delivered to you within 2-5 working days depending on delivery area.
Shipping is $5.50 New Zealand wide except for rural delivery addresses. Orders over $70 are shipped free.
Shipping to RD (rural delivery) addresses is $8.50. Orders over $75 are shipped free.
We do allow pick ups. We are located in Glen Eden, West Auckland.
Just send us an email email@example.com to arrange collection, otherwise you can always catch up with us at a local market in Auckland.
What are your Terms and Conditions?
These terms are issued by Kids in The Kitchen and are effective from 21 October 2017. They cover the use of our website https://kidsinthekitchen.nz.
Refund and Returns Policy
Refunds will be processed back to the original payment method within 3-5 working days of us receiving the return. We do not refund your freight costs. If your order qualified for free freight we will deduct the freight amount you would have paid from your refund amount.
We cannot accept any goods that have been used, have their labels removed, altered or damaged and we can only accept items returned if they are within their product packaging and that we agree are in a resaleable condition.
We cannot accept responsibility for returns that are sent by non-traceable postage methods and are not received by us.It is your responsibility to return goods via a traceable postage method. Unfortunately, without the items we cannot issue an exchange or refund.
Exchanged items can only be dispatched after the returned goods have been received in accordance with the returns policy. Please be aware that you will incur an additional freight charge for the delivery of the replacement item (unless the item was faulty, damaged, or sent to you in error).
Kids In The Kitchen reserve the right to refuse to fulfil an order due to technical problems occurring in pricing, stock holding or any other technical issue. The customer will have the choice to pay the balance owing to receive the item(s) or to cancel the order.
We do our very best to ensure that all our products reach our customers in perfect condition, however we strongly advise all our customers to check their goods thoroughly on delivery.
In the unlikely event that you receive a faulty product please let us know within 3 months of the purchase date, otherwise we will not be able to offer a replacement. Please contact us with details of the fault, a photo and your name and order number.
Missing or Late Orders
If you haven’t received your order within 7 days of placing it please contact us so we can follow it up. If you fail to contact us within 30 days of placing your order, we might not be able to follow this up. Note that we have no control over postage times once your order has left our premises.
Damaged or Defective Products
We do our best to ensure our products reach you in perfect condition, but we strongly advise you to check goods thoroughly upon delivery and contact us if there’s any issues.
In the unlikely event that you receive a faulty product please let us know within 3 months of purchasing, otherwise we will not be able to offer a replacement. Contact us with details of the fault, photo(s) illustrating the fault, and your name and order number.
Prices for our products are displayed in New Zealand dollars and are subject to change without notice. We reserve the right at any time to modify or discontinue the Service (or any part or content thereof) without notice at any time. What payment methods do you support?

Direct Bank Transfer
At the checkout select “Direct Bank Transfer”, and you will receive instructions on how to send us a payment easily using online banking. Always use your order number as a reference for your payment so we can easily locate your payment. Once the payment is manually matched, your order will proceed to fulfillment.
Paypal, Debit and Credit Cards
At the checkout select “Paypal Debit and Credit Cards”. You will be redirected to the Paypal website where you can pay using your Paypal account balance (if you have one) or with a credit or debit card. You don’t have to sign up to Paypal to complete a transaction and card details are never held on our systems.
We don’t charge a surcharge for credit cards.

How do LilyBee Wraps work?
People are surprised by how well beeswax wraps work. Simply use the warmth of your hands to seal the wraps around sandwiches, half avocados, cheese, bowl and anything else you can think of.
What are LilyBee Wraps made from?
The base material of the wrap is pure 100% cotton to which we apply a natural solution of beeswax, tree resin and coconut oil. So much nicer and better for the environment than plastic!
How do I care for my LilyBee Wrap?
We suggest cleaning gently with cool water and a mild, natural dish soap. Then simply dry on the dish rack or hang to dry until ready to use again.
How long do LilyBee Wraps last?
Depending on care and use they last from six months to a year or more. We know families who have used them every day in lunches for the past year and they are still going.
How do I store my wraps?
You can keep your LilyBee Wraps in your utensils drawer or have some rolled in a jar for easy access in the kitchen.
Will my food taste like honey?
LilyBee Wraps smell divine! For the first few times you use them a slight honey taste may be present, but this quickly fades with use.
What size wrap works best for sandwiches?
Medium works fine for most sandwiches, but for sandwiches made from particularly large or thick slices of bread we suggest the large wrap.
How do I clean my Sinchies pouches?
Support the bottom of the pouch with your hand and using a bottle brush make a twisting motion to get right down to the bottom of the pouch. Rinse thoroughly with running water or place on the top shelf of the dishwasher.
How do i fill my Sinchies pouches?
It’s easy as 1-2-3!
- Ensure the lid is tightly fastened & you’re ready to go!
- Open the pouch at the ziplock top and at the bottom gusset so it expands & can stand up, making it easier to fill.
- Use a 1 litre Sinchies reusable food pouch or a funnel to fill your Sinchies pouch. Continue pouring your scrumptious food up to the “fill to here” line on the pouch.
When sealing the top ziplock, widen the bottom gusset with two fingers to help ensure your contents doesn’t spill out the top.
How do I dry my Sinchies Pouches?
- Fold the side seals together (so the bottom gusset and zip-lock stay open) and pop them over the prongs in your dish rack.
- Get a short glass & some spoons or chopsticks. Please the utensils in the glass, pop each Sinchies pouch over one & they’ll dry in no time!
- Use a round peg hanger
- Or once they’ve been washed given them a shake and place them in the freezer.
How do I fill my Kai Carrier snack pack?
It’s easy as 1-2-3!
- Open the snack pack ziplock.
- Push out the bottom of the snack pack to maximise the volume available.
- Fill with delicious food, but don’t overfill – the ziplock must be free of food to seal.
What can I put in my Kai Carrier Pouches?
Kai Carrier pouches can be filled with just about anything! They are perfect for smoothies and yoghurts for the kindy or school lunch box. Puree any combination of fruit, vegetables, meat, legumes, poultry grain or dairy – great for busy babies starting out on the solid food journey.
How do I fill my Kai Carriers Pouches?
Its easy. On first use your Kai Carrier may be a bit stiff, but once you have opened the gusset (wide bottom bit of pouch that expands it) your Kai Carrier should stand upright by itself to make filling them easy.
- Use a large spoon to push gusset open or blow air through the spout to expand the pouch.
- Ensure the cap is on securely and you are ready to fill your pouches
- Use a funnel or pouring jug to fill the pouches via the open ziplock. Kai Carrier funnels are ideal!
- Fill about ¾ full, or just below spout level as this will allow for expansion when freezing and prevent the pouch contents overflowing and getting stuck in the ziplock when you seal it
- Seal ziplock and you are ready to go!
Ensure that the consistency of the food is no thinner than apple sauce and make your purees thicker for those little ones inclined to squeeze the pouches! This will help prevent any unwanted spills.
Can you microwave Kai Carrier products?
Yes you can.
Kai Carriers are microwave safe. The materials used in the manufacture of Kai Carriers have USFDA food approval. This is valid to a maximum of 90 degrees Celsius for direct food contact.
If you do choose to microwave the pouches, ensure that the zip lock is open, heat on 50-70% power and always stir and test the pouch contents prior to consuming, as microwaves heat food unevenly. Note that microwaving the pouches will reduce their lifespan.
The manufacturer’s recommended method for heating pouches is to sit them in a container of warm water and allow them to heat through, especially for baby food.
How do I clean my Kai Carrier products?
Kai Carrier products have been designed using clear BPA free plastic so that you are able to see if any food is left in them. This is an important design feature and will help ensure you are able to clean the pouches effectively and reduce the chance of contracting any food related illnesses.
Kai Carrier products are dishwasher safe (top rack), but can also be effectively cleaned by hand or with the specially designed Kai Carrier scrubbing brushes. Our brushes are rounded at the ends to help get into all the corners. Push the brush into the pouch and use a twisting motion. The brushes also come with a small brush (located in base) which is the perfect size for thoroughly cleaning the spout of the pouches.
If food is caked on, fill pouches with warm soapy water and allow to soak, until food softens and can be washed away.
We recommend rinsing products prior to placing over the prongs on the top rack of the dishwasher to remove any excess food.
Always ensure that all food is removed from the zip locks as this may impact on how well they seal next time you use them.

The great news is that once your pouches have served their time and are no longer functioning as they should they can be recycled. Every time you use a Kai Carrier product you are preventing a single use package or food wrap from ending up in landfill or our precious oceans.

How do I clean my Bumkins snack bags?
Bumkins signature fabric is 100% polyester with a waterproof coating embedded into the fabric. We made our fabric wipeable, machine washable, and easy to rinse and hang after use. Here’s some tips on the way to ensure the best results.
Before Washing: Ensure all crumbs and food residue is rinsed off bags. Then flip bag inside out prior to washing and drying.
Washing: Wash in any temperature water. Machine or hand wash with regular laundry detergent in your normal laundry load. Do not use any bleach or any non-chlorine bleach additives. When washing in the kitchen sink, any liquid dish soap can be used.
To Avoid Stains: Promptly rinse bags in cold water and launder as soon as possible. Some foods, like tomato sauce or beet juice, may stain the fabric if left too long before washing.
Mold Prevention: Mold spores form when fabric is splashed with food or water and then left somewhere warm and dark while still damp. It is best to clean food from bags immediately, flip bag inside out, and then wash and fully dry prior to storing.
